(Finance) – The American trade deficit. In the month of December 2023, the trade balance showed a deficit of 62.2 billion dollars, up compared to the deficit of 61.9 billion dollars in November (figure revised from -63.2 billion).
The data, communicated by the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) of the US Department of Commerce, is worse than estimates analystswhich were for a deficit of $62 billion.
The exports increased to 258.2 billion (+1.5%), while the imports they rose to 320.4 billion dollars (+1.3%).
