USA consumer confidence in August beyond

(Finance) – The confidence of American consumers is still rising. The survey of the Conference Board US Consumer Sentiment Index reported a rise in the index to 103.2 points in August from 95.3 points in July (revised from 95.7 points). The figure is even better than analysts’ expectations, which were for an index rising to 97.9 points.

During the same period the index on the present situation moves to 145.4 points from 139.7 previously, while the index on expectations rose to 75.1 points from 65.6 points.

The consumer confidence survey is based on a representative sample of 5,000 American households and is conducted for the Conference Board by the NFO WorldGroup.
