Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip continue. US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan confirmed at a press conference that Israel killed Marwan Issa, Hamas’s number three military officer, in an attack earlier this week. “Other senior leaders are likely hiding deep within Hamas’ tunnel network, and justice will come for them, too. We’re helping to ensure that,” Sullivan said.
The Israeli press announced last week that the news that Issa died in the air strikes in Gaza was being investigated by the Israeli army. Israeli Army Radio had reported that the Nusayrat refugee camp, where military intelligence had identified Issa, was bombed, and that Issa, number 2 of the Qassam Brigades, was among the 5 people killed.
THE HIGHEST HAMAS MEMBER TO DIED IN WAR
Marwan Issa, one of the leading names on Israel’s wanted list, became the highest-ranking Hamas official to die in the war that has been going on for more than 5 months.
It is stated that the death of the Hamas leader may disrupt the ongoing, albeit difficult, ceasefire talks mediated by Egypt and Qatar.
The loss of life in Israel’s attacks on Gaza is approaching 32 thousand.
