USA April services PMI drops less than

(Finance) – The service sector in the United States is slowing down. L’definitive services PMI indexelaborated by S&P Global, rose to 51.3 points in April from 51.7 in the previous month, and is higher than analysts’ estimates (50.9).

The index, which represents a survey of purchasing managers of companies active in the tertiary sector, is nevertheless confirmed above the 50 point thresholdwhich acts as a watershed between expansion and contraction.

It slips there toocomposite index, which also takes into account the change in the manufacturing PMIand stands at 51.3 points, against 52.1 points in March, but above the 50.9 points of consensus expectations.
