At the daily press conference, Major General Ryder answered questions about the “North Korean soldiers fighting against Ukraine” claim.
“WE HAVE INDICATORS THAT THERE ARE BOTH DEAD AND WOUNDED”
“We evaluate that North Korean soldiers engaged in combat alongside Russian forces in Kursk,” said Ryder, adding, “We have indications that there are both dead and wounded. I cannot give an exact number, but we are following the issue.” he said.
IT WAS STATED THAT AROUND 12 THOUSAND SOLDIERS WERE SENT
When asked about the number of soldiers North Korea sent to Russia, Ryder noted that, as far as he knows, this number is still around 12 thousand.
TIME RANGE GIVEN: MORE THAN A WEEK
Ryder said that it is estimated that the soldiers have been fighting alongside Russian forces for “more than a week” and added that these soldiers were only in Kursk.
IT WAS ALLEGED THAT AT LEAST 30 NORTH KOREAN SOLDIERS WERE KILLED AND WOUNDED
In the statement made by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, it was claimed that at least 30 North Korean soldiers were killed and injured in the clashes in the Kursk region of Russia on December 14 and 15.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy shared an image of North Korean soldiers fighting against his country.
