US wholesale inventories increased beyond expectations in February

(Finance) – Inventories in the United States grew beyond expectations. In February, according to what was communicated by the US Bureau of Census, there was a 2.5% increase to 818.2 billion dollars, higher than the + 2.1% estimated by analysts. The figure compares with the previous + 1.2% (reversed by + 2.1%). On an annual basis, there was an increase of 19.9%.

In the same period the sales rose 1.7% on a monthly basis at 675.8 billion dollars, compared to + 5% previously. Over the year there was an increase of 25.5%.

The inventory / sales ratio was 1.21 against 1.27 a year earlier.
