The US is to sell the F-16 fighter jets to Turkey after the country earlier this week ratified Sweden’s NATO application.
The White House has given its approval to the current sale of 40 new F-16 planes and equipment to modernize Turkey’s current F-16 fleet.
The sale of the plane to Turkey has long been a debated issue in the United States. Several members of Congress have been concerned about how Turkey will use them against its neighboring countries.
