Criticism continues to grow against the execution of four democracy activists in Myanmar on Monday. Even inside the country, masked demonstrators have managed to carry out a short protest against the military regime without being arrested. The US is now calling on all countries to mark harder against Myanmar – above all China.
The regime has sentenced dozens of activists to death as part of a crackdown on dissidents that has gripped the country since the junta took power last year, but until now Myanmar had not carried out any executions since 1988.
