In a written statement from the White House, it was reported that Biden evaluated the latest situation regarding the proposed ceasefire in his phone call with Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamed Al Thani.
It was reported that Biden, one of the two leaders who agreed that the current ceasefire agreement proposal “offers a road map to end the crisis in Gaza”, stated that Hamas should accept the proposal.
“The President confirmed that Israel is ready to take the next step under the terms of the agreement presented to Hamas,” the statement said. While the statement was included, Biden’s emphasis was evaluated as a response to the contradictory statements from Israel regarding the agreement.
In the statement, it was stated that Biden asked Qatar to use its influence to persuade Hamas to accept the agreement proposal, and thanked the Emir of Qatar for his support in this process.
3-PHASE Ceasefire PLAN
In his statement on Friday, US President Biden announced the 3-stage ceasefire proposal prepared by Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu argued that there were some gaps between the proposal announced by Biden and his own drafts.
White House National Security Communications Director John Kirby stated that the draft in question belonged to Israel and that there was no gap in the ceasefire proposal between the two countries. (AA)
