A US military helicopter The helicopter took off on Wednesday from an air base in Nevada and was supposed to land in California. But it never did.
There were five marines on board and a search operation was launched.

But at 6 p.m. Swedish time, it had been discovered in a mountainous area outside San Diego, reports say AP. It was civil authorities who managed to locate the helicopter near Pine Valley, about 7 miles from San Diego. It was done using both ground and air resources.
It is unclear if anyone on board is unharmed. Right now there is a strong storm and snowfall in the area, which has made the rescue work more difficult. According to the rescue service, it is largely the conditions on the ground that cause it due to the snow.
