(Finance) – The number of job openings in the United States fell to 7.673 million on the last business day of July 2024, down from 7.910 million the previous month and below the 8.09 million expected by analysts.
This is what the US JOLTS Report found Bureau of Labor Statistics American, which measures job openings and other labor market metrics.
This data precedes Friday’s data on American employment.
Specifically, jobs declined in health care and human services (-187,000); state and local government excluding education (-101,000); and transportation, warehousing, and utilities.
