US Japan and South Korea come closer condemn Chinas

The countries also committed to holding annual trilateral military exercises and sharing information about North Korea’s nuclear tests by the end of 2023.

The purpose of the meeting was to create unity due to North Korea’s nuclear deterrence and China’s aggressions.

– Our countries are stronger and the world is safer when we stand together, Joe Biden praised and thanked the leaders of the countries for their courage.

According to the press release from the meeting, the United States, South Korea and Japan commit to consult with each other quickly in crisis situations and to coordinate countermeasures to regional challenges, provocations and threats related to common interests.

The countries also committed to holding annual trilateral military exercises and sharing information about North Korea’s nuclear tests by the end of 2023. The countries also committed to hold tripartite meetings annually.

China’s aggression was frowned upon

However, the rhetoric directed towards China was stronger than expected, and China is expected to react to the matter.

The countries said they oppose any unilateral attempts by China to change the status quo in the South China Sea.

– We reiterate the importance of peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait as a necessary element of security and prosperity in the international community, the meeting announcement said.

China has previously warned the United States that the country’s attempts to get closer to South Korea and Japan could “raise tensions and clashes in the region”.
