The US has said it cannot support an attack on Rafah by ally Israel without a comprehensive plan to protect civilians.
The US administration has not seen a comprehensive plan for a possible ground attack by Israel on the southern Gaza city of Rafah. The spokesperson of the White House tells about it Karine Jean-Pierre.
– We have not seen a comprehensive plan related to their intentions regarding the Rafah operation.
The United States has previously said that the country cannot support an attack on Rafah by its ally Israel without a comprehensive plan to protect civilians.
An estimated one million Palestinians have sought refuge in Rafah.
Israel’s proposal “requires further work”
An anonymous US official interviewed by the Reuters news agency says that Israel has shared some preliminary plans with the US.
– We haven’t seen a full plan or anything that would give us the confidence we need.
Likewise, another official source interviewed by Reuters says that Israel’s proposal for shelters, food and evacuation routes “requires additional work”.
The negotiations will continue on Saturday in Cairo

If Hamas does not agree to the terms, Israel will attack the city of Rafah.
