US Foreign Minister Antony Blinken to Finland in a week

Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto hosted the visit.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is visiting in three Nordic countries next week.

First, he will visit Sweden and participate in Luleå on the 29th-31st. to the meeting of the US-EU Trade and Technology Council to be held in May, together with the US Minister of Commerce Gina Raimondo with.

On Wednesday and Thursday, he will participate in NATO’s informal meeting of foreign ministers in Oslo.

On Friday he is visiting Finland. The visit is hosted by the outgoing foreign minister Pekka Haavisto (green). The foreign ministers will discuss current foreign and security policy issues, Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine and long-term support for Ukraine.

Foreign Minister Blinken also commented on Twitter that he was looking forward to the visit.

Blinken also meets the outgoing Prime Minister Sanna Marini (sd.) and gives a speech about the war in Ukraine.
