US, durable goods orders unchanged and below expectations in July

US wholesale inventories increased beyond expectations in February

(Finance) – The results were unchanged and lower than expected US durable goods orders in July 2022. According to the United States Department of Commerce (Bureau of the Census), the orders highlighted a 0% monthly increase after the + 2.2% of the previous month (from the preliminary + 1.9%). The figure is worse than the estimates which indicated a + 0.6%.

The data “core”ie net of orders from the transport sector, it is up by 0.3% compared to + 0.3% in the previous month (data confirmed by + 0.3%) and + 0.2% of the consensus.

If we exclude the sector of the defenceorders increased by 1.2%, after the previous + 0.7% (revised figure from + 0.5%).
