US conducts new attacks on Yemen 0 linked to Iran

The US military states that it is six cruise robots that “were ready to be fired”.

“They posed a direct danger to US warships and merchant vessels in the region,” reads the statement from US operational headquarters Centcom, as quoted by the BBC.

According to AP, Britain is also participating in tonight’s attacks and at least 30 targets linked to the Houthi movement have been attacked “in a second wave of attacks”, US officials told the news agency.

Since the war in Gaza broke out on October 7, the Iran-backed Houthi movement has carried out numerous attacks on merchant ships in the Red Sea, as revenge against the West. In response, Great Britain and the United States have responded with counterattacks and according to Reuters, the evening attacks in Yemen are linked to the Houthi movement.

Earlier on Saturday, the US military stated that eight drones had been shot down off the coast of Yemen. They are also said to have destroyed four more drones that were ready for flight, the BBC reports.
