(Finance) – Negative data arrives at July 2024 from American housing market. According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, new construction sites construction starts fell 6.8% to 1.238 million units, after rising 1.1% in June (revised from +3%). Analysts had expected a higher number of construction starts at 1.34 million.
THE building permits issued by the authorities competent authorities recorded, in the same period, a decrease of 4% to 1.396 million units, after the +3.9% recorded the previous month. Analysts’ expectations were for a more contained decrease in permits, that is, up to 1.43 million.
