US, April durable goods orders below expectations

France producer prices accelerate in January

(Finance) – Orders for US durable goods in April increased, but less than expected. According to United States Department of Commerce (Bureau of the Census), orders showed a monthly increase of 0.4% after the + 0.6% of the previous month (figure revised from a preliminary of + 0.8%). The figure is worse than the estimates which indicated a + 0.6%.

The “core” figure, ie net of orders from the transport sectoris up by 0.3% compared to + 1.1% the previous month (revised data from + 1.2%) and + 0.6% of the consensus.

If we exclude the defense sectororders increased by 0.3%, after the previous + 1.2% (revised figure from + 1.4%).
