US and UK: Ukraine should be grateful

US and UK Ukraine should be grateful

Britain’s defense secretary and US security advisers want to see more gratitude from Ukraine.

– Whether we like it or not, people want to see a little gratitude, says British Defense Minister Ben Wallace.

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said Ukraine should show more gratitude. But in retrospect, he said it was actually good advice for Zelenskyi and said Ukraine had a “habit” of treating allies as if they were “an Amazon warehouse,” reports The Guardian.

Wallace was referring to the American e-commerce giant.

    “I’m not Amazon”

According to Wallace, this is not the first time he has spoken to Kiev about the “unusuality”, which he believes is based on the fact that as soon as Ukraine gets one type of weapon, they start demanding a new one.

    – Last year I traveled for eleven hours to get a list. Then I said I’m not like Amazon, says Ben Wallace.

US security adviser Jake Sullivan also expressed frustration during the meeting.

When a Ukrainian activist asked if Joe Biden withheld NATO membership because he was “afraid of Russia losing and Ukraine winning,” Sullivan responded in an “annoyed tone”:

    – The United States has contributed enormous capacity to ensure that Ukraine’s brave soldiers have ammunition, air defenses, infantry, tanks and mine clearance equipment.

    Zelensky: “I am grateful”

Ukrainian President Zelenskyi called the lack of a timetable for Ukrainian NATO membership on Tuesday “absurd”.

But on Wednesday, the tone lightened. Alongside Joe Biden, Rishi Sunak and leaders from other G7 countries, he said:

    – The results of the summit are a meaningful win for Ukraine. I am grateful to the leaders of all NATO countries for their support, Zelenskyy said.

Later when asked about Wallace’s comment about gratitude, he said that they always showed gratitude to Britain.

    – I thought we were always very grateful to Great Britain.

Something that British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak attested to.

“He has repeatedly expressed his gratitude to me, the British people and other allies,” Rishi Sunak said.
