Uruguay the government lifts the state of water emergency

In Montevideo, which has more than half of the country’s population, residents have been drinking salt water from the tap since the end of April for the poorest, or bottled water, because of a historic drought. Tap water in the capital has now returned to acceptable salinity levels, but a whole model of water overuse is being called into question.
