This scholarship was created to honor the memory of Ann-Marie MacLennan, a long-standing member of the club who established and managed the May Court Children’s Community Choir for many years in an effort to bring music and performing arts to children who may not otherwise have that opportunity, the club said. The scholarship is open to a successful high school graduate from the municipality of Chatham-Kent pursuing a career in the arts and related studies.

The club, established 88 years ago, serves the community with a focus on women and children through volunteerism and fundraising.

The emergency lunch box program continues to serve approximately 20 schools in Chatham-Kent via monthly deliveries of food providing support to children at a cost of over $20,000 annually, the club said.

More information about the club is at www.maycourtchatham.ca.
