“Your bosses are lying about your losses” • Russian soldier: Made the right decision
Drones equipped with loudspeakers call on Russian soldiers to surrender. This is according to a video clip published by the Ukrainian defense.
“Lay down your weapons and save your lives,” reads the voice message played over the drone’s speaker.
Ukraine’s military is using drones equipped with loudspeakers at the new front line inside Russia to persuade Russian soldiers to voluntarily lay down their weapons and surrender.
This is claimed by the Ukrainian defense, which published a video on Telegram.
“Russian soldiers, surrender! Your managers are lying about your losses. Save your life. We will treat you well,” reads the voice message played over the drone speaker flying over the area, according to the video clip.
Russian soldier: “Made the right decision”
In the video clip, you can see how a Russian soldier holds up his passport and says that he has chosen to surrender to the Ukrainian defense.
– I am against the war and have made the right decision, says the soldier.
The Ukrainian military has also previously used a similar approach with loudspeaker drones in Andriivka in the eastern Donetsk region.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s advisor has previously stated to The Washington Post that Ukraine’s armed forces captured “hundreds of prisoners” in the Kursk region in Russia.
Ukraine offensive
The Ukrainian ground offensive has reached about three miles into Russia and thousands of people in Russia have been evacuated so far.
The offensive is by all accounts the largest so far from the Ukrainian side on Russian soil since Russia’s full-scale invasion of the neighboring country in February 2022.
Russia has ordered an evacuation of parts of the Belgorod region on Monday. Belgorod, which borders Ukraine, is close to the Kursk region where Ukraine launched a ground offensive last week.
