(Tiper Stock Exchange) – Urban Vthe Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) company, has selected Amazon Web Services (AWS) as your cloud providerfor the purpose of building transport networks for eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) vehicles that will revolutionize urban transport.
UrbanV is working in collaboration with i AWS Professional Services (ProServ) to develop and operate its own networks of vertiports, which will be used by eVTOLs to transport passengers within city centres. UrbanV will therefore be able to take advantage of the experience of AWS, which will help it develop an innovative and modular operating model for vertiports, which could be extended internationally over the next few years.
UrbanV intends to launch its own first eVTOL service from Rome Fiumicino airport in the center of Rome within end of 2024just in time for the Jubilee of 2025. From 2026 onwards, the Rome network will expand until you get to have 10 vertiports. In parallel, UrbanV will also inaugurate networks of vertiports in Venice, Bologna and on the French Côte d’Azur.
For this purpose, in the next five years they will be supported investments of several hundred million euros for the expansion of the network on a European and worldwide scale.
Amazon Web Services will play a key role in the development of the operating model for the UrbanV vertiports that will exploit the AWS cloud technology for automate the passenger experiencemaking it simple check-in operations and security checks, reducing the need for space and allowing the vertiports themselves to integrate into urban spaces. Passengers will receive personalized updates in real time, with travel plans that will automatically adjust if connecting flights are delayed, omnichannel check-in and inherent flexibility.
