Uppsala county gets a new governor

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Our new governor appointed at the government’s meeting in the morning and was presented at 1.30 pm by Minister of Civil Affairs Erik Slottner at Uppsala Castle.

Stefan Attefall was the Christian Democratic Minister for Civil Affairs and Housing in Fredrik Reinfeldt’s government between 2010-2014. He was involved in introducing the building permit-exempted shelters, which are named after him.

Attefall succeeds Göran Enander, who has been governor since 2016.

The county governor is the government’s representative in the county and head of the county board, and is often appointed for a six-year term.
