A severe thunderstorm warning has ended for communities in Brantford/Brant, Norfolk and surrounding municipalities.
Early Thursday evening, Environment Canada had issued a severe storm warning, saying meteorologists were tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.”
Impacted communities included: Hamilton, Simcoe, Brantford, Burlington, Aylmer, Tillsonburg, Norwich, Delhi, Long Point, Ancaster, Dundas, Waterdown, Port Stanley, Port Bruce Provincial Park, Port Burwell Provincial Park, Paris, Long Point Provincial Park, Scotland , Turkey Point Provincial Park and Turkey Point.
At about 8:30 pm Environment Canada had issued a tornado warning for Brant and Oxford counties. That warning was rescinded at about 9 pm
A heat warning for the local area remains in place.
