Update 7.2.5.1 from October 24th. that’s it – all patch notes and information

In the world of Destiny 2, servers are shut down almost every week. The Guardians have known this routine for a long time. Today it’s that time again and MeinMMO will inform you about when the planned downtime will take place and what will change.

Update history for Update 7.2.5.1:

7:08 p.m.: Bungie returns command. Destiny has probably changed her mind. Update 7.2.5.1 is now available and is currently rolling out. On PC it is 134.4 MB. We have linked the patch notes further down in the article.

6:55 p.m.: Routine maintenance quickly turns into extended downtime. Bungie just announced via Twitter/X that the downtime has been extended to 1 hour. New information should be published in about an hour.

4:18 p.m.: Destiny 2 servers are now offline until the weekly reset. We will continue to keep you updated during the downtime. So watch out for updates to this article.

This is what you need to know today: After last week’s big midseason update, things are quieter again today. There’s only one standard update coming to Destiny 2. But the servers will also be shut down for a short time so that Bungie can work in peace.

  • Last week, the Competitive Mode badge from Crota’s End was repaired, allowing players to finally claim their There Can Be Only One Triumph.
  • Additionally, Bungie has already fixed the issues with the Festival of the Lost, the Halloween event in Destiny 2.
  • More Festival Mementos are now also dropping from the Uncanny Engrams.
  • The Heads Will Roll event challenge can now be completed in both Normal and Legendary Haunted Sectors.
  • Today’s planning only involves problem solving. Therefore, there will probably be no longer waiting times. Nevertheless, MeinMMO will keep you updated in this article, as surprises are always possible.

Maintenance on October 24th – All times for server down

These times are important today: Bungie will continue to inform players about planned downtime via Twitter/X. MeinMMO brings you this information with the downtimes for Germany so that you can better plan your personal gaming evening. Today the downtime is again 2 hours and 45 minutes.

This is the exact maintenance schedule:

  • Background maintenance will begin on all platforms at 4:00 p.m.
  • The servers go offline at around 4:15 p.m. Players are automatically kicked out of the game.
  • During the downtime, Bungie will release update 7.2.5.1. It will be rolled out gradually so players can download it on all platforms.
  • At 7:00 p.m. everything should be online again and you can try to log in again.
  • The maintenance will then continue in the background until 9:00 p.m.
  • Important: As long as the background maintenance is running, connection problems may occur in the game from time to time. In addition, maintenance queues can sometimes form when logging in because Bungie only releases access to the servers gradually in order to avoid problems caused by excessive server load. You may therefore have to wait longer until you are back in the game.

Also keep in mind that third-party applications and the official Companion app may also not be accessible properly for a while, meaning you won’t be able to use them.

That changes with Update 7.2.5.1 in Season 22

Unfortunately, the cut that Eris Morn made to Savathûn in Season 22 had to be done.

This will be included in Update 7.2.5.1: As always, Bungie publishes its current to-do list of things that are currently not working properly in the game. This is also actively influenced by players by reporting bugs in the Bungie forum.

The following bugs are currently on this list:

  • Mind Twister’s Aspiration no longer glows when dealing damage.
  • When auto-melee is enabled, glaives will accidentally double melee.
  • The “Shhh!” gesture no longer displays the intended holographic boss.
  • The Vex Battleforce Lightfall event to obtain current Exotics has an issue. It may happen that it does not start even though the flag has already announced the event. As a result, players often travel to Neomuna to take part in the public event in vain.
  • The Solo Legendary Lost Sector Guardian Rank Objective can be completed on both available Lost Sector difficulties.
  • The Ascension – Major Arcana Legendary Card does not deal burn damage to fighters.
  • The Monte Carlo exo-weapon’s bayonet thrust does not trigger a gamepad rumble.
  • The game will not grant players raid completion if Crota is killed while his wipe timer is expiring.
  • Players report that they continue to be unable to award commendations in Trials of Osiris.
  • Players can die if a finisher is performed and the enemy dies before the finisher animation completes.
  • The Resilience stat provides the previous level of damage resistance at multiples of 10. However, 100 Resilience correctly provides the intended benefit.
  • Also don’t forget: Player name changes cannot be adjusted infinitely via bungie.net. Several “number guardians” continue to wait for the option to change their player name again instead of receiving the message “You do not have any name changes available”.
  • If you know of any other bugs in the game that aren’t listed here but you’ve noticed, feel free to share them in our comments section.

Patch notes for update 7.2.5.1 in Destiny 2

What’s in the patch notes? Bungie publishes the list of all changes for update 7.2.5.1 in the form of patch notes. However, a full overview of all fixed issues and improvements will not be posted online until this evening.

As soon as these are published, we will update our article for you and link to the patch notes, as things can still change afterwards.

What else is important? Maintenance periods are unfortunately an inevitable part of a live service game like Destiny 2, as they form the basis for a smooth and enjoyable gaming experience.

So while they may temporarily restrict access to the game, they are a necessary step to ensure that bugs do not remain in the game and that you can play as usual and without too much disruption.

Keep an eye on this article to stay up to date on the maintenance progress and look forward to the new Weekly Reset waiting right after the update is complete.

By the way, you can currently have a fun experience at the Halloween event in Destiny 2, even if not everyone is enthusiastic about it:
