Update 7.2.0.6 from October 3rd. is here – all patch notes and information

On today’s holiday, October 3rd, the Destiny 2 servers will also take a short break. As always, MeinMMO takes a look at the exact downtimes and possible changes that could come to light during this breathing space.

Update history for Update 7.2.0.6:

7:00 p.m.: Bungie’s update went well. The file size for the download is 126.9 MB on the PC: Once you have downloaded it, you can start the last story week straight away. You can find the patch notes further down in the article.

4:20 p.m.: Destiny 2 has taken its servers offline for maintenance as planned. Now it’s time to wait.

This is what you need to know today: At least Destiny 2 seems to have survived the DDoS attack of the last few weeks for now. The servers are running more stable again and players are no longer constantly being kicked with error codes.

So Bungie has more time to take care of the other problems in Destiny 2. To do this, the servers have to take another short break today during which you cannot play.

  • For example, the developer is still working on ensuring that Guardians who complete the “Crota’s End” challenge in competitive mode will receive the “There Can Be Only One” Triumph and the associated badge.
  • As usual, we will keep you updated today about the start and duration of the server outage so that you can optimally plan your activities in Destiny 2. So check back for an update so you don’t miss any important details.

Maintenance on October 3rd – All times for server down

These times are important today: Bungie shares all information about maintenance work via Twitter/X and we always keep you informed about downtimes in Germany. The planned downtime today is again 2 hours and 45 minutes.

This is the exact maintenance schedule:

  • Background maintenance will start on all platforms at 3:00 p.m.
  • The servers go offline at around 4:15 p.m. Players are automatically kicked out of the game.
  • During the downtime, Bungie will release Season 22 Update 7.2.0.6. It will be rolled out gradually so players on all platforms can download it.
  • At 7:00 p.m. everything should be online again and you can try to log in again.
  • The maintenance will then continue in the background until 9:00 p.m.
  • Important: As long as the background maintenance is running, connection problems may occur in the game from time to time. In addition, maintenance queues can sometimes form when logging in because Bungie only releases access to the servers gradually in order to avoid problems caused by excessive server load. You may therefore have to wait longer until you are back in the game.

Also keep in mind that third-party applications and the official Companion app may also not be accessible properly for a while, meaning you won’t be able to use them.

That changes with Update 7.2.0.6 in Season 22

This will be included in Update 7.2.0.6: As always, Bungie publishes its current to-do list of things that are currently not working properly in the game. This is also actively influenced by players by reporting bugs in the Bungie forum.

Here are the errors currently on this list:

  • Guardians may become blocked during the Blade Path by going through different steps of the quest at the same time.
  • The Titan exotic gear item Path of Burning Steps and its associated ornaments no longer change their appearance when the Solar Weapon boost perk is active.
  • The cooldown of the Hoarfrost Z and Ice Avalanche Overcoat exotic gear for Titans is incorrect.
  • When viewing the weapon details of items in players’ vaults, the weapon perk icons no longer appear.
  • Some players who have not completed the Season of the Deep story missions will not be able to complete the current Season of the Witch weekly story mission until they complete the previous season’s story.
  • Returning players who have not fully completed the introductory quest “A Guardian Rises” before starting Lightfall will not be able to accept the “Learn from the Light” quest.
  • Several pieces of armor can interfere with aiming when using the aiming device with the Exotic Fusion Rifle Area Shot.
  • Due to a problem, it is currently not possible to remove the equipment for your saved loadouts from the vault again. They must be on the char.
  • The Vex Battleforce Lightfall event to obtain current Exotics has an issue. It may happen that it does not start even though the flag has already announced the event. As a result, players often travel to Neomuna to take part in the public event in vain.
  • Also don’t forget: Player name changes cannot be adjusted infinitely via bungie.net. Several “number guardians” and “Ada-1 personal USB stick” are still waiting for the option to change their player name again instead of receiving the message “You do not have any name changes available”.
  • If you know of any other bugs in the game that aren’t listed here but you’ve noticed, feel free to share them in our comments section.

Patch notes for update 7.2.0.6 in Destiny 2

What’s in the patch notes? Bungie publishes the list of all changes for update 7.2.0.6 in the form of patch notes. However, a full overview of all fixed issues and improvements will not be posted online until this evening.

As soon as these are published, we will update our article for you and link to the patch notes, as things can still change afterwards.

What else is important? Maintenance periods are unfortunately an inevitable part of a live service game like Destiny 2, as they form the basis for a smooth and enjoyable gaming experience.

So while they may temporarily restrict access to the game, they are a necessary step to ensure that bugs do not remain in the game and that you can play as usual and without too much disruption.

Keep an eye on this article to stay up to date on the maintenance progress and look forward to the new Weekly Reset waiting right after the update is complete.

As this article shows, it’s no longer just developers who work at Bungie, but also players: Destiny 2 hired players from the Reddit forum as new weapons experts
