Update 7.1.5.3 is available for Destiny 2 today and with it a server down. As Bungie announced, they are already thinking far ahead and paving the way for future changes. The loot shooter’s systems should be more isolated from each other, so that one problem is less likely to lead to other problems. MeinMMO also tells you what you need to know today.
What you need to know today: At the end of June, Bungie already provided an update on game stability and the measures they have taken to make the gaming experience smooth and reliable. Because if the game doesn’t work or the keepers get locked out of activities, everything else is irrelevant.
7:08 p.m.: The update is here and ready to be loaded. On the PC, the download size is 96.6 MB.
7:00 p.m.: The servers are still offline. It will probably take a few more minutes.
5:25 p.m.: Destiny 2 have just been taken offline for scheduled maintenance. Now you have to be patient until 7 p.m. if everything works out.

That’s why there’s a lot going on behind the scenes at the moment.
Overall, the efforts include the stability of more than 50 services in Destiny 2 that contribute to the operation of the loot shooter. This includes load balancing code, the code for service-to-service communication, the internal message processing pipelines, and more.
The support also has a lot to do. While the upcoming Season 22 will still focus on identifying and fixing current stability issues, Season 23 will focus on protecting Destiny 2 from stability issues that may arise in the future.
But first, let’s take a look at what might change for Guardians in-game today.

This changes with Update 7.1.5.3 in Season 21
That brings the update 7.1.5.3 today: Many players are hoping that Bungie will address the finisher bug in today’s update. Because this error is not only annoying, but is also often used to troll other guardians.
With this, the little meanness has crept in that some guardians like to help other players in the finisher to an involuntary death by killing the animated opponent with their weapon beforehand.
Otherwise, these things are still on the targeted list of known problems:
Notes on the Solstice event ending tonight:
Bungie advises that all Guardians should claim their completed objectives and available rewards before the end of the event to avoid losing anything. You can do this with Eva in the tower.
And for those who have already missed them in the collection: The glowing armor of the solstice event 2023 will be included in the transmog feature with the start of Season 22 on August 22nd. If you earned them during the event.
If you know of other bugs in the game that are not listed here, please feel free to share them in our comments section.
Patch notes for maintenance 7.1.5.3 in Destiny 2
What’s in the patch notes? Bungie publishes the list of all changes for maintenance 7.1.5.3 in the form of patch notes. However, these will only appear tonight and give a complete overview of all fixed problems and improvements.
As soon as they are published, we will link them in this article, as this may change later.
Even if the loot shooter is currently receiving a lot of criticism: For Bungie, work on the Destiny services remains a long-term project that will continue to be invested in beyond Season 23 and in the future. And from here it’s only two weeks until Bungie shows its big showcase for The Final Form.
But the Guardians seem tired of listening:
