As the ground battles become increasingly difficult in the Gaza Strip, the losses for Israel’s military, the IDF, are increasing. Saturday was very bloody both in terms of fallen soldiers and in killed Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

In total, the IDF so far counts 152 dead soldiers in the roughly two and a half month long war. However, that does not include the victims of Hamas’s initial terrorist attack on October 7. Among the over 1,100 killed in Israel that day were many soldiers.

On the opposing side, the numbers are likely much higher, although the Hamas-run authorities in the Gaza Strip do not break down the number of casualties into civilians and combatants. In total, Hamas, branded as a terrorist, states that over 20,000 people have been killed in Gaza since the war broke out.

According to uncertain Israeli estimates, as many as two-thirds of those killed may be civilians.

– This is genocide, says Gaza resident Rafat al-Aydi.
