Ice Hockey Allsvenskan Djurgården’s veteran Dick Axelsson is suspended for three games after the threatening words to the referee.
“If you put your hands on me again, you know what happens,” the 37-year-old is said to have told the referee during Tuesday night’s home game against Kalmar.
Dick’s inappropriate words
It was roughly halfway into the losing match (3–5) against Kalmar at Hovet which Dick Axelsson was expelled for “abuse of officials”.
The zoo veteran doesn’t want to go to the penalty box at first, but trainer Robert Kimby persuaded him. Then Axelsson is said to have said to the linesman: “If you put your hands on me again, you know what will happen.”

According to the report to the disciplinary board, the judge must have asked what he said and then Axelsson repeated: “You understand what happens if you put your hands on me again.”
Axelsson’s penalty
After the exchange of words, it was the end game for the veteran – Axelsson received a match penalty.
And now the ice hockey association’s disciplinary board punishes Dick Axelsson with a three-game suspension and a fine of SEK 6,000.
