Unsettled weather for the next few days

The current weather is due to a low pressure that affects Scandinavia and which means unsettled weather where several areas of rain and showers will pass.

According to SMHI, an area of rain, locally with thunder, moves to the northeast over Svealand and then stops.

“During the afternoon and evening today, there is a line over central Uppland and to the left over Västmanland county and southern Dalarna,” says Sofia Söderberg, meteorologist at SMHI, to TT.

During Sunday afternoon, temperatures are not expected to exceed 19 degrees in the country. The northernmost parts of Sweden are expected to have temperatures between 10 and 13 degrees.

Not applicable with warnings at this time

During the weekend, the southernmost parts of Norrland were hit by heavy rain, which was warned by SMHI with a yellow warning.

According to Sofia Söderberg, there are no current warnings for heavy rain in the country in the coming days, but the weather forecast can change.

“We update that on a daily basis because a lot can happen in the forecast material,” she explains.

On Monday, occasional rain and showers are expected across most of the country. Persistent rain and frequent showers are expected mainly in northwestern Götaland, Svealand and southernmost Norrland.

More stable weather in the second half of the week

The weather is expected to stabilize somewhat in southern Sweden on Thursday as high pressure builds up. But persistent sun and high temperatures throughout the country will not be an issue in the coming week:

— It depends on which parts of the country you look at, but if you think that it will be sunny all over the country and 25 degrees, then it is not really something that we will see here until the beginning of next week, explains Sofia Söderberg.
