Secretary General of the UN Antonio Guterres warned on Tuesday that the destruction of life-sustaining nature will cause humanity an “existential crisis”.
Guterres reminded that temperatures continue to rise year by year and every day more and more animal species disappear from the world.
– Every minute we pour a truckload of plastic waste into seas, rivers and lakes. This is clear as hell. This is what an existential crisis looks like, Guterres said at the UN meeting on biodiversity in Cali, Colombia.
