The search for thick natural ice started this morning at sunrise. Armed with a saw and measuring tape, skating enthusiasts traveled past puddles and fens. The ice seems too thin everywhere, in the thickest places it is barely 3 centimeters. Until in the distance you hear the crack of a daredevil who dares and then the rest quickly follows.
