A hitherto unknown person has scooped a sensational lottery win in the USA: 1.35 billion dollars – the equivalent of 14 billion kroner.
It is the second largest win in the game’s history, the Mega Millions company states on its website.
For three months, the six numbers have been drawn without producing a winner, until Friday.
The individual who has now claimed the jackpot lives in the state of Maine, but more than that is not known.
If the person chooses to receive the money over a 29-year period, they will receive the total amount, but most people choose a lump sum and then the amount in this case ends up at $725 million.
The odds in the winning round were 1 in 303 million.
