Increased aggressiveness with dryness
An extremely rare attack, according to specialists. Hornets do not attack humans without reason, you have to approach two or three meters from the nest for them to feel in danger. But, with the drought and exceptional weather conditions of recent weeks, it is possible that the hornets will become more aggressive.
The sting of the hornet, like that of the wasp, is painful. In this case, it was the exceptional number of bites that required the care of cyclists aged 51 and 72.
Firefighters and ambulances
A dozen firefighters and three ambulances were mobilized to rescue these men. They were accompanied by a third cyclist who was less seriously stung but was still hospitalized.
