Going shopping at Ica is something most Swedes have done at some point in their lives. ICA today has over 1,300 stores in Sweden with around 50,000 people working in offices or in one of ICA’s stores.
Working in an Ica store means that you interact with hundreds of customers on a daily basis. You may need to help show where the mozzarella cheese is, explain the difference between satsumas and clementines, or wrap the goods in the till and collect payment.

Sometimes you can even get busy with things that may not actually belong to your duties. For example, when customers leave goods in the store that they realize they don’t need.
– People regret with fridge and freezer goods and therefore leave them on various shelves in the store. It happens that you find a yogurt or milk next to the chips, which you then have to throw away. So feel free to take that extra minute and go back with the product where it should be, a store manager previously told me News24.

But it also happens that the opposite happens.
– Then it also happens that you find goods in the freezer that shouldn’t be there. Even that is a bit sad.
He also said that it is very common for many people to “find out they need a bag” after paying in the hope of getting one for free.

But now it has emerged that there is actually a real super trick if you want to save money for real when you shop. Namely a relatively unknown scanning machine.
The super trick at Ica gives a cheaper price
Namely, it is ICA Supermarket Torgkassen in Uppsala that has received many praises from customers after purchasing a scanning machine in the store.

The machine is used in such a way that you enter the product’s date into the scanner, which then detects whether the product has a short date and will soon expire. This in turn causes it to set a new, discounted price on the item that is printed and can then be stuck on.

But apparently many people missed the smart machine.
– We have had it for almost two years, but it is not used excessively. We also have a sale basket where they put goods with a short date so that people can easily go and pick there, the store manager tells Nyheter24.

Why don’t you think the machine is used more?
– It can certainly be as simple as people not knowing it exists. But know that the same type of machine should be available at more Ica stores, he says and adds:
– Who has it, it is up to each individual ICA trader, he concludes.
