The Danish Ministry of Defense describes the object as cylindrical, approximately 40 cm high and 10 cm in diameter. It is likely that the object now being examined is a so-called smoke buoy used in shipping.
Danish authorities have examined the object and assess that it does not pose an immediate security risk. They have decided to salvage the object with the help of the Danish defence.
The Energy Agency has also offered the owners of Nord Stream 2 to participate in the salvage and is now waiting for the go-ahead from the company before the salvage can begin.
The Danish reports The Swedish Energy Agency.
