What about the layoffs? The company behind the gaming engine Unity has already lifted layoffs in the past. In January 2024 alone, around 1,800 employees had to go – 25 % of all employees (via Reuters.com)
At that time, the reason was given that the reduction in sales should be boosted again by reducing sales growth. Previously there was anger with another measure: Unity temporarily introduced a fee for developers.

Who was released? Well -known employees of Unity are affected. Shanee Nishry, the technical manager of the “Behavior Package” (a visual tool for creating NPCs and its behavior), explained in the UNITY forum that she and her team were released.
