(Finance) – Growth in retail sales in the United States is slowing. In October, a positive change of 0.4% was recorded on a monthly basis to 718.9 billion dollars, after the +0.8% of the previous month. The data communicated by the US Census Bureau, however, is better than the expectations of analysts who had estimated an increase of 0.3%.
On an annual basis, there was an increase of 2.8% after the +2% in September.
The “core” data, i.e. retail sales excluding cars, recorded a +0.1% on a monthly basis, much lower than the +1% of the previous month and below the +0.3% of the consensus.
