In the United States, the country’s Ministry of Justice has filed charges against the leadership of the extremist organization Hamas, according to court documents.

In addition, the United States accuses Iran and the extremist organization Hezbollah of supplying Hamas with financial support and the weapons that were used in the attacks on October 7, 2023.
– The indictments published today are only part of our efforts to target all Hamas actions. These actions will not be the last, said the US Attorney General in a press release Merrick Garland.
In total, charges have been brought against six people. Among the accused are, among others, the top leader of Hamas Yahya Sinwar and former director of the organization Ismail Haniyehwho was assassinated in late July.
According to the AP news agency, the indictment is mainly a symbolic gesture, as at least two of those charged are believed to have died and Sinwar is known to be hiding from enemy forces. However, US authorities believe they will bring at least one person, whose identity they did not reveal, to justice in New York.
