Antony’s ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin says in questioning that Antony assaulted her physically several times, including last June when she was pregnant.
Cavallin claims she has evidence in the form of text conversations and pictures. She says Antony said “if she’s not with him, she won’t be with anyone else,” reports English The Guardian.
— Once he was angry with me because he had seen me in a night club, so he put me in the car and attacked me several times. He also threatened to throw me out of the car at high speed, says Cavallin.
The police in Manchester write in a statement that they are aware of the allegations and that an investigation is underway. Therefore, they do not want to comment on the matter further.
Antony writes on Instagram that the accusations are not true.
“My and Gabriela’s relationship was full of conflict, with harsh words from both sides. But I never attacked, physically. I trust that the investigation will reveal the truth”.
The 23-year-old star, who was signed to Manchester United from Dutch Ajax in the summer of 2022 for one billion kroner, has been poked out of the Brazilian national team squad that is assembled this week.
“Due to the information that has emerged on Monday regarding Antony and the ongoing investigation, and to protect the alleged victim, the player has been removed from the squad,” writes the national team.
