United Kingdom producer prices grow less than consensus

(Finance) – Producer prices in the United Kingdom grow less than expected in April 2024. According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the producer price index (output) rose by 0.2% on monthly basis, like the previous month, compared to the +0.4% estimated by analysts.

At an annual level, a change of +1.1% was recorded, compared to +0.7% in the previous month and compared to the +1.2% expected.

The core index, net of food, drinks, tobacco and oil, recorded no changes on a monthly basis (+0.3% in March) and rose by 0.2% on an annual basis, as in March.
