(Finance) – UK inflation curbs in the month of December. According to the monthly report ofOffice for National Statistics (ONS), consumer prices recorded an increase of 0.3% on a monthly basis, against the change of +0.1% in the previous month and the +0.4% expected by analysts.
On an annual basisinflation growth stood at 2.5%, less than the 2.6% expected and recorded in November.
The core inflation data, which excludes the most volatile components such as food and fuelrose by 0.3% on a monthly basis, after no change in November. The trend variation stands at 3.2% and results inferior at the expected +3.4% and +3.5% of the previous month.
They also slow down producer prices of the United Kingdom, also in December. According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the producer price index (output) recorded a positive change of 0.1% on a monthly basis, after the +0.4% of the previous month and the +0, 1% estimated by analysts.
At an annual level, a change of +0.1% was recorded, compared to -0.5% in the previous month.
