Who owns the iron meteorite that landed outside Enköping two years ago – the landowner or the finders? The legal issue began on Monday in a unique trial in the Uppsala District Court.
— It’s exciting, this case will surely come up in many instances. We have a right to our ownership of the land and also, within certain laws, a right to what is on the land, but we also have a common right – that everyone should have access to nature. What’s so interesting here is that it has to do with a meteorite, something that fell from the sky. I have not experienced that before! says Johanna Björkman, lawyer.
