Unique plants were stolen from Brunnsparken in Ronneby: “It’s sad”

It was on Monday that the park administration in Ronneby municipality discovered that several plants were gone. It concerns, among other things, Pelarkactus, rock cactus, agave and mother-in-law’s pillow that have disappeared. The value of the plants is estimated at around SEK 25,000, according to the municipality.

– After we got here this weekend, someone or a few had been here and dug up over twenty plants, so we had to cancel the discount for the season. It’s really boring. It’s deplorable, says Joakim Persson who is unit manager at the park administration in Ronneby municipality.

Thinking about camera surveillance

The incident has been reported to the police and now the municipality is considering installing cameras to avoid more thefts.

– It is definitely something we can think about and review if it were possible, he says.
