Unique detective festival starts in Nora

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The festival takes place April 22-23 in Nora, which in Lang’s books was called Skoga.

Visitors will be able to walk in Lang’s footsteps and see film adaptations of her books as well as excerpts from the documentary about Maria Lang, alias Dagmar Lange, which is currently in production.

The organizers are the Swedish Deckarakademin in collaboration with Nora municipality. During the festival, the academy will award prizes for the year’s best crime novel, the year’s crime debut and the year’s children’s and youth book in the crime genre.

A long list of authors are guests, in addition to the already mentioned also Ninni Schulman, Christina Wahldén, Carin Hjulström and Katarina Bivald and others.

Dagmar Lange was born in 1914 and died in 1991. As Maria Lang, she published 42 detective stories and four youth books. The last book “Se Skoga och sedan…” came out in 1990, a year before her death.
