Unique Bronze Age grave found during railway construction

“It is unique that we are excavating this type of long ridge, it has not happened that many times in history,” says archaeologist Jans Heinerud to Sveriges Radio.

The find has been made in connection with the planning of the Norrbothnia Railway, which will be a 27-mile long coastal railway between Umeå and Luleå. According to Ann-Christin Burman, cultural environment specialist at the Swedish Transport Administration, the grave find does not delay construction.
