(Finance) – The electric and hybrid car market it is constantly growing, an increasingly important factor in achieving the goals that Italy has set itself in the Ecological Transition Plan (PTE), approved in March and published in the Official Gazette in June. In fact, by 2030, Italy will have to reach the two pre-set targets: 6 million vehicles in circulation and a 25% market share for full electric and plug-in hybrid cars. According to Istat, at the end of 2021, the total number of electric and hybrid cars (with all degrees of electrification) was around
1,150,000 units in the Peninsula, equal to 2.9% of the fleet in circulation. A number that has almost doubled compared to 2020, with a growth of 92.9% year on year. The full electrics did best of all, more than doubling, going from 53,000 to 118,000 units (in September 2022 there are almost 160,000). Moving on to hybrid cars, the growth in the same period is equal to 90%.
