Unicef: In Lebanon, 400,000 children have had to leave their homes | News in brief

The UN children’s organization Unicef ​​says that an estimated 1.2 million people and 400,000 children in Lebanon have had to leave their homes due to the intensifying conflict in the region.

According to Unicef, in the past three weeks, attacks on homes, health centers, schools and emergency shelters have killed 100 children and wounded more than 800.

The deputy director of Unicef ​​who visited Lebanon this week Ted Chaiban says in a statement that almost 190,000 people are in emergency shelters, but the rest have to seek shelter elsewhere.

Chaiban states that the mental suffering caused by the situation is enormous, especially for children.
