Frida Karlsson is one of Sweden’s biggest skiing stars.
Now the next Karlsson will also come and make the Norwegians tremble.
– Hannah is still young, but everyone knows her, says Nettavisen’s expert Torbjörn Nordvall.
Recent years have Frida Karlsson has taken enormous steps and grown into one of the world’s best skiers. Last year she won both the Tour de Ski and took four medals during the World Ski Championships.
Frida’s little sister
But now a brand new Karlsson is coming – namely little sister Hannah Karlsson. The 15-year-old has created a lot of attention after this weekend’s success at the youth championships with two silver medals.
– I am very satisfied with the weekend. I’m so happy that it came off properly, says Hannah to Tidningen Ångermanland.

Big sister Frida is hugely impressed by her sister, who is also a great talent in soccer and plays for the division 2 team Remsle IF in Sollefteå.
– It’s really cool! Maybe it could make her choose skiing over soccer. At least I hope so, says the skiing star to Expressen.
Norway reacts
Hannah Karlsson’s success has nevertheless reached Norway and attracted great attention in the neighboring country.
– It’s a fantastic sports family, says Norwegian newspaper Nettavisen’s ski expert Torbjörn Nordvall.

He too hopes that the 15-year-old chooses to invest in cross-country skiing to take up the fight with Frida.
– The legacy must continue, right? Maybe they can ride in the same relay team in the future? Frida is only 24 years old. It would be amazing. Hannah is still young, but everyone knows her, says Nordvall to the newspaper.
Karlsson’s goal
Frida Karlsson has also already considered the idea of double Karlsson in a relay.
– Our goal is to ride a sprint relay together at some point. Regardless of whether it’s in the club uniform or in a bigger arena, says the Swede.

The reason for both Frida and Hannah’s talent for cross-country skiing comes from their mother Mia Karlsson. She competed for Sweden in cross-country skiing both during the WC and the Olympics in the 90s.
– It is a family with enormous skiing joy. They are very involved in the social aspects of skiing. They don’t chase results at an early age, but it’s about the social part and having fun in training. It doesn’t matter how good you are, you have to have fun, says Nordvall, who has previously been press manager for the Swedish national skiing team.
